Privacy Policy
The short version
- Everything you put in ClockIn stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no ClockIn server.
- ClockIn has no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking code, and it never sells or shares your data.
- Location is optional. It is used only to clock you in at the office, and only on your iPhone.
This policy explains how the ClockIn app for iPhone (“ClockIn”, “the app”), made by Rajkumar Sharma (“I”, “me”), handles information. If you have a question, email privacy@melliferalabs.com.
What ClockIn stores
ClockIn stores the following on your device so the app works. It is not sent to me or to anyone else.
- Tasks: titles, notes, category, priority, dates, reminders, and planned and tracked time.
- Time records: timer sessions, time you add by hand and any notes on them.
- Work days: when you clocked in and out, your breaks, your top 3 for the day and your end-of-day note.
- Settings: your work day hours, reminder choices and automatic clock-in preferences.
ClockIn’s widgets, Live Activities and Control Center controls show a summary of your day. To do that, the app shares that summary with them through storage on your device that only ClockIn can read.
Your iPhone may include ClockIn’s data in your iCloud or computer backups, according to your device settings. Apple handles those backups under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Location
Location is used only if you turn on Clock in automatically › At the office. When you do:
- ClockIn reads your current location once and saves it on your device as your office.
- To show the office’s name, ClockIn asks Apple’s geocoding service, once, for the place name at that location. Apple handles that request under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- iOS then watches for you arriving at and leaving that one place, and tells ClockIn so it can clock you in or out. ClockIn doesn’t track where else you go and doesn’t keep a location history.
You can turn this off in ClockIn, or stop location access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › ClockIn.
Focus, Siri and Shortcuts
If you add ClockIn as a Focus filter, iOS tells ClockIn only when that Focus turns on or off. If you use ClockIn with Siri, Shortcuts or the Action button, Apple processes your requests under its own privacy policy. ClockIn only receives the action, such as “Start my day”.
Notifications
Reminders, such as “Plan your day” or “Break’s over”, are scheduled and delivered on your device. No push service is involved.
Purchases
The Bronze plan is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment. ClockIn only learns whether your subscription is active and when it renews. I never see your name, Apple ID or payment details.
Sharing and exports
ClockIn sends information out only when you choose to, for example when you share a status report or export a timesheet as PDF or CSV. It goes wherever you send it, using the share sheet.
Links
Links in the app, like this page, open in Safari or Safari View, which work under Apple’s and the website’s own policies.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete tasks in the app, and deleting ClockIn removes all of its data from your iPhone. Because I don’t hold any of your data, there’s nothing for me to access, correct or delete on your behalf. If you have questions about your rights under privacy laws such as GDPR or CCPA, please get in touch.
Children
ClockIn is not directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled, I’ll also mention it in the app’s release notes.
